Our Story
Devorative began when our founder, Sarah Johnson, noticed a concerning pattern while working as a financial advisor in Ghana. Despite having access to countless financial apps and resources, her clients still struggled with the basics of money management. The problem wasn't a lack of tools—it was that most solutions were too complex, too theoretical, or simply didn't fit into people's daily lives.
In January 2025, Sarah assembled a team of financial educators, behavioral economists, and app developers with a shared mission: to create intuitive financial tools that anyone could use, regardless of their financial knowledge or background. We conducted extensive research with diverse focus groups across West Africa, identifying the common barriers preventing people from taking control of their finances.
By March 2025, we launched our first workshop series in Kumasi, teaching practical financial habits through simple tracking methods and accessible mobile apps. The results were immediate and powerful—participants reported feeling in control of their money for the first time, with many increasing their savings by over 20% within just 60 days.
What began as a small local initiative has quickly grown into a movement. Today, Devorative serves thousands of clients across Ghana and neighboring countries, with plans to expand our reach globally while maintaining our commitment to simplicity, practicality, and accessibility.
